1. What does the charter price include?

Our prices include the yacht rental fee, fuel costs, all port and docking fees, and personnel fees for a licensed captain and crew. The number of crew will depend on the size of the vessel. Please note our prices do NOT include extra fuel or any tips or gratuities you choose to give the crew, which normally run 10% to 20% of the reservation cost.

  2. Do you offer discounts, or are your rates fixed at a certain level?

We occasionally offer discounts that are based on when you book; weekdays are more likely to have discounts applied. However, this depends on season and availability.

  3. How can I tell if the yacht I want will be available?

Please call us at (800) 969-5388 to verify availability before attempting to book a trip.

  4. What happens after I submit a booking?

You'll receive an automated email immediately after booking; within 24 hours, you should receive a second email that confirms the booking's details. This gives us time to arrange for the crew for your cruise. The second email will contain information about instructions, parking, the captain's contact number, and other vital details. Please be sure you read it carefully.

  5. When is the best time to go on a charter cruise?

Morning cruises are typically the calmest, with the best ocean conditions and the least amount of wind. Afternoon cruises tend to be warmer and possibly windier; sunset cruises have the best views.

  6. Can I bring food and drinks aboard?

Absolutely! You can provide some or all of your food and drinks. The only thing you may not bring on board is red wine as it leaves marks on the boat and carpet if spilled.

  7. What destinations do you recommend, and how many hours will those cruises take?

Our most popular cruises are currently the 4-hour Malibu, 6-hour Paradise Cove, and 8-10 hour Catalina Island cruises.

  8. Can I have a chef on board?

You'd need to book a yacht equipped with a full-size kitchen. If you do, we can recommend a chef with experience working on boats.

  9. Can I have a bartender on board?

We can recommend a licensed bartender who has experience working on boats.

  10. How many people can I bring on a yacht?

Yacht capacity varies according to the size of the vessel. Small yachts may allow only up to 6 guests (this includes yourself); bigger yachts may allow up to 12 guests.

  11. Why can't I have more guests on board?

We abide by U.S. Coast Guard regulations, which stipulate that we can't allow more than 6 guests on smaller yachts and 12 guests on larger yachts.

  12. What is the best time to leave on a trip to Catalina?

We highly recommend leaving early, around 7 to 8 a.m. The ocean is typically much calmer then, and your trip will be much smoother.

  13. Do you offer any overnight cruises to Catalina?

Yes. We have overnight and multiday cruises available on larger boats that are fully equipped to accommodate overnight guests.

  14. How long does it take to reach Catalina Island one way?

Depending on the size of the yacht, it can take between 3 to 3.5 hours to reach Catalina.

  15. Is it possible to go faster and reduce the travel time to Catalina?

We may be able to increase the speed on some of our boats, but that will result in extra fuel charges.

  16. Do we have to wear lifejackets?

Under California law, every child under 13 years of age on a moving recreational vessel of any length must wear a Coast Guard-approved life jacket in serviceable condition and of a type and size appropriate for the conditions and the activity. The law does not apply to children under 13 years of age who are:

    - on a sailboat and are constrained by a harness tethered to the sailboat

    - in an enclosed cabin

    - on a vessel engaged in an emergency rescue situation

  17. Can I smoke on the boat?

No. All of our vessels are smoke-free and drug-free; no cigarettes, cigars, marijuana, or any illegal drugs may be used. These are absolutely prohibited, and failure to comply with this rule will be cause for termination of your cruise without a refund.

  18. Do you offer multi-day cruises?

Yes! If you book a larger yacht, you can arrange for a multi-day cruise with weekly rates.

  19. What happens if I get seasick?

We recommend using a motion sickness treatment prior to the trip. Please speak with your doctor about motion sickness patches, pills, and other treatments in advance.

  20. Do your yachts have jet skis?

Some of our larger yachts come with jet skis or tender boats included. However, we do not offer separate rentals for jet skis only.

  21. Can I fish while on the boat?

Only if the yacht is a licensed fishing vessel. You and your guests will each need individual fishing licenses. Apply here.

  22. What water activities do you offer?

Some of the yachts available for cruises of 6 hours or more have inflatables, kayaks, or paddle boards. These must be requested separately.

  23. Will we see dolphins or whales?

We can't guarantee that you'll see either dolphins or whales. However, seeing dolphins in the waters off Southern California is very common. Whale migration season near L.A. starts around December and continues to about April; during this time, whales do come relatively closer to shore, especially around Zuma Beach.

  24. What is your cancellation policy?

You can find out here: cancellation policy.
